Default Final Cut bribed into the industry.

I've been looking at a few film universities and private schools for my girlfriend and they all use final cut pro. Why? I asked some of the representatives who told me mac was the cheapest to go to and that mac went to them not vice versa.

With so many students being trained on it, of course it has become an industry must and need! With business tactics like this will students benefit?

I even found a school where mac provided a top of the line mac laptop with all the software needed to create a film of course solely created for the use of apple computers.

Some may also just few this as a smart move. I also know some people have hated Microsoft for this type of tactic. Now mac has entered on the same level.

Hmm, I'd call that just a clever marketing tactic.

Default How much impact does it have?

I don't really see it as sketchy, but more as being a good marketing technique. Besides, my university uses windows only, almost everyone I know owns a mac. Apple is hip and trendy. People are buying them like crazy any way you look at it.
